We are pleased to announce that Twinfield is the recipient of a Vermont State Farm-to-School Implementation Grant from the Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food & Markets. This grant will support both Maplehill School and Twinfield Union Schools to expand our school gardens, buy more local food for our food programs, and increase student understanding of how our local food system works. Both schools will be working to raise awareness in the community of our Farm-to-School programs. We are excited for this collaboration between an independent school and a local public school and to be sharing our resources with more people in the community. This grant will support activities through the 2016-2017 school year.
We also have received a Vermont Rural Partnership Grant as well as a Whole Kids Foundation Grant to improve our school garden. Our goal is to add more hands on learning opportunities to our students through gardening. We look forward to sharing the harvest with our community in the fall.
