For the past nine months, Cabot School music educator Brian Boyes has been working with UP For Learning and a group of students from across Vermont to produce the original song and video called Our Time, and Cabot School is proud to announce its release.
“We were charged with the mission of amplifying student voice through music and film,” Boyes noted. “The primary objective was to team with the students to create an original song that uses their own words and feelings to capture what personalized learning means to them.”
The project was supported by the Vermont Agency of Education, the Vermont School Boards Association, UP For Learning, and The Bay and Paul Foundations.
Starting this fall, the video will be used to support community dialogue around positive school transformation, personalized learning and Act 77 in general. Included in the group of more than a hundred Vermont student musicians and dancers are some Cabot and Twinfield faces you will surely recognize.
“We are really happy with the results,” said Boyes. “We hope folks will take a moment, check it out, and share with their neighbors, friends, and social networks.”
